As a communications professional, I've been asked to perform a wide range of functions over the years. In addition to writing articles and editorials and carrying out organizational and managerial functions (as managing editor and press officer), I have made extensive use of different media formats, including audio, video and photography. My multimedia skills and ability as a writer, videographer, photographer and audio documentarist have been a major factor in the development of my profession. After a stint as the American correspondent for the Italian architectural magazine Ottagono, once returned to Italy I took over as managing editor for four years of the construction monthly Il Nuovo Cantiere. In that role, I served as editorial contributor, organized and acted as moderator at conferences, as well as promoted other magazine-related events and activities. Following my direct collaboration with trade magazines, I partnered with several equipment manufacturers that needed coverage of the application aspects of their products. This allowed me to continue my work on the field, traveling and visiting job sites in Italy, Europe, the Near East and North America. My role as press officer for the leading demolition company in Italy, which overlapped with partnerships with other clients, gave me the opportunity to document a multitude of demolition projects, including the demolition of the stage of La Scala Opera House, the dismantling of several power plants and other major structures. |
Again, on this occasion, in addition to drafting articles and press releases, I made extensive use of photography and video for documentation purposes. Within the scope of this four-year collaboration, I participated directly in many international conferences to illustrate some of the company's major projects.
My ongoing association with several major companies in the earthmoving machinery and road construction industries led to my assignment as the creator and managing editor of three house journals. Currently, I work with one of the most important international contractors specializing in ground engineering and foundation work. For this major contractor, I produce technical articles, videos, audio slide shows for the Italian headquarters and their American branch. A strong believer in the future of digital publishing, I developed the online version of Strade e Autostrade, trade magazine serving the road and highway industry to which I am a long-time contributor. For the electronic version, S&A Online, I presently write articles and create multimedia editorial products. |
